Question about main brochure page!!

hello

i doing a facelift to my store as it was awfull to say the least and i have this question.

i have several brochure pages (e.g. FAQ, Privacy Policy ...)

on my main brochure page i want to have several icons in the main screen about recently released products which will be links to the actual products.

my question is, if i add the pics to the brochure primary page, would that affect all the other pages as well?

would it be more sensible to take the brochure template and strip it of some of its fields and use it then as the main page?

Add fragments to the page you want the 'icons' on, and put the content inside the fragment. That way you will affect only the page that contains the fragment. Changes to the Primary template would affect every page that uses that template.

I have found a good way to do this sort of thing is to write the HTML separate and then add it to the specific brochure page as a fragment. To do this you need to create a separate page using dreamweaver, frontpage or what ever you use. Once you have everything as you want it go to Actinic and add a fragment to the brochure page concerned. Select text only as the layout for that fragment and then copy the HTML code from the new layout into the text box for the fragment. You need to open and close the HTML in the text box using !!< >!! so that Actinic sees it as HTML. Your final statement should look like this.

Hope that makes sense. I have found that this allows quite a lot of design freedom on Actinic without actually changing the Actinic Templates and works especially well on brochure pages.
