PayPal - Actinic site to PayPal Site duration

    Hi

Sorry if this has been covered. My site www.hairkit.co.uk seems to take forever to transfer through to the PayPal site. Does anyone know if this is an actinic issue or PayPal? Anyone else seen the problem?

I fear that I may be losing sales, i.e. people getting bored of waiting. I use broadband and it takes ages. Lord knows how long it may take if anyone is using dial-up...Do poeple still do that?

    Cheers
    Carlos.

I believe this to be the response time of the Paypal server - sometimes it seems to be quite slow. It won't make difference whether you're on broadband or not.
This is not only limited to Paypal though sometimes other PSPs also respond quite slowly.

Just tried it and it bounced through ok, albeit it took a second or 2 for the paypal page to come up, but it came up within what I would say is reasonable time...

If it all goes through your pages of the checkout fine right up to when the paypal is contacted and you see it take an age, then at that time it could be the paypal system is having a stress time and just taking its time, which is not an issue with your Actinic, just the PayPal responsiveness, but like I say, worked ok just now.

There were probs with Paypal yesterday afternoon, I bought something on ebay and paypal would not take my payment for a while, I had to go away and return anhour or so later.

I don't know if this is a common paypal problem.

Having said that I added Paypal as a 2nd payment method earlier today and already it has been used more than Worldpay to take payment on one of my sites!
