Cannot use File | Sites button

I have downloaded a trial version and am investigating if I could use this software as an ecommerce developer.

But, on my first day I am running into trouble. The most important for me is to develop multiple sites for multiple clients.

I can not use the File | Sites button, because it is disabled. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but after reading many posts on this forum and searching the knowledge database, I did nog find an answer why it is disabled.

I started the developer version.

I think that feature is disabled in the trial mode - it probably assumes if you can use the software suitably for 1 site in the trial you can use it for multiple sites in the purchased copy

Note you do not need developer to create for multiple clients - developer is best considered as a multi-own site version (if you want to create more than 2 of your own sites - the break point instead of buying 2 standalone Business versions) .... it does have a theme export feature which could be of use.

I know many developers such as Jo at Pinbrook simply use their clients copy of the software rather than using Developer

John....actinic have revised the product range

there are new versions of developer, with and without the abilty to process orders, the version without the order processing is more relevant to "developers"

there is a different product to have multi sites

Thanks Jo - I was highlighting that Developer is not necessarily needed to develop sites for multiple customers.

It is a shame that Actinic Developer Lite info on the Actinic site is only accessible from the homepage and not in the product drop down, the e-comerce overview, left-hand navigation or the comparison matrix. Maybe the mods would like to take a look at that?

yes its true, the developer trial version only allows 1 site
