Does anyone know of any highly customised v7 Sites?

    Hi there,

we are in the process of having our Actinic site customised to suit our unfortunately complicated ecommerce needs. So far we have had 4 plugins built by both Actinic and 3rd party developers to help us reach our goal but are still in need of more modification.

I have a meeting with Actinic tomorrow (!!) and am looking for some highly modified Actinic sites as reference for our own.

Does anyone know of any relevant sites and are any of you developers who may have worked on them?

    Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "customised" design or functionality? As an observation I would suggest not running your site in frames as it will not be indexed by the SEs crrectly.

      http://www.4suredomain04.co.uk/ heavily customized in design.

http://www.smartmusic.uk.com/ customized in design and backend connections to an authentication system.

      Hope that helps.

Funtionality. We sell trophies, awards, gifts, etc and the majority of our products need mutiple options available to the customer. Some need as many as 4, ranging from yes/no buttons, to dropdowns to free fields.

Do u know of any sites with this kind of option level?

Frames is part of the reason that we are seeking a new website! Unfortunately our back end system doesnt allow us to have menus outside of frames, and we do not have the time/expertise to customise our way around it.

Actinic can be bent to achieve what you are after, so when you visit them tomorrow, am sure they can accommodate you, but an example of it might be: http://www.4suredomain04.co.uk/acatalog/1.html

I've helped with several sites where a lot of real-time calculation goes on to help build the product - see http://www.fastframes.co.uk/acatalog...rad__5060.html for one with lots of options and user entered sizes. Try clicking on any of the icons and watch the frame get built before your eyes.

That really is a good looking site. Hopefully I'll be using Actinic to that standard one day.

                Great thanks.

The fastframes site seems just right. Out of interest, is this 'made to measure' feature available off the shelf or is it exclusive to the fastframes site?

That was a lot of unique customisation. I can't take any credit for the overall visual design - that was a professional designer. I just did the product based stuff.

However the experience gained means that subsequent sites doing a something similar ( see http://www.mdfshapes.co.uk/acatalog/...df_shapes.html - under development ) can be done a lot easier. In this site the geometric calculations needed to size, price, profile and weigh each shape come from Custom Properties. This way an indefinite number of shapes can be added as long as you can provide a formula for the perimeter, area, blank area, etc. E.g. an oval has an area property containing Pi * (D1 / 2) * (D2 / 2)
