Actinic was working fine... won't connect now

    Hi,

I've been usinf V7 for ages, no problems, today I got email saying new order received but I can't download it. I get the following error message.

Actinic received an request forbidden error from the web server. The server is not properly configured to allow Actinic to run CGI scripts from the cgi-bin. Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration.

When I go into web/Configure Site Details and review them I get the following error when I enter my URL

The wizard received an error while verifying the web server. Error sending request.

In Advanced/Network setup a test gets this error

Actinic received an request forbidden error from the web server. The server is not properly configured to allow Actinic to run CGI scripts from the cgi-bin. Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration.

I know my details are correct I downloaded orders yesterday, could my server settings have changes without my knowledge? On my site I seem to able to thru the checkout OK, anyone any ideas? Please help I'm gonna have to take the site down if I can't process the orders

It is quite possible that your web host may have run an update that has "broken" your site. You will need to ask them if they have done any work on your server since yesterday.

If you are going to do a complete reinstall. I would suggest making a snapshot of the site as it and saving to another location, write to a CD or something. You can also make backup's of the entire 'Site1' folder or relevant site folder's. The snapshot will contain all information of the site. You will only have to reimport the snapshot to get back to where you were last.

Did you check Jo's post about ZA?

I have had the same problem this morning (exactly same error messgaes) only to find that the server provider restarted to server and the problem was rectified.

It appears same of the primissions and privelages to my account where no longer available.

But Pressure on the Server Hosting guys to check all the details!
