    Site Search Facility

    Hi all,

Does anyone have tips on how make the actinic site search facility as effective as possible? It does not currently appear to be very acurate on the site i have developed at http://www.wickedstarparty.co.uk, particularly if more than on search word is entered.

    Any suggestions anyone?

    cheers

I tried 'black gold full eyemask' and it came back with one product. Removing some of the words and it came back with additional products as expected. Can you give an example of the problem and the words you searched for?

Seemed to be working fine here also for single and multiple word enquiries.

Worth checking the search settings under View | Search Settings to ensure snone of your keywords are in the exclusion list

case in point is the marilyn monroe dress in adult costumes/female costumes, if 'marilyn' is typed in then an exact match is acheived. If 'marilyn monroe' is entered, there are no hits.

We would expect the user to type in 'marilyn monroe' when searching for such an item, but the site owner has named the item 'marilyn dress' and not 'marilyn monroe dress' because of copyright issues etc.

        Any way around this?

        cheers

I couldn't find the word 'monroe' in your product details or anywhere else - you don't appear to have any product information. If you expect your customers to type in 'monroe' you will need to include it in your product details. By typing two words in the search you will need both to be matched.
