    Google Analytics and Act_Order04.html

Hi! Sorry to be a bore. I have added the Google Analytics code to my Act_Primary.html and Act_BrochurePrimary.html templates, and I am trying to follow Google's instructions for E-Commerce tracking, adding the code above to the Act_Order04.html page and trying to add the script that starts <body onLoad . . . following Google's instructions and those given by Nigel of Actinic on this forum, and my own version combining both (changing Google variables to NETQUOTEVARs). However, in every case, I get a text box coming up on the bottom of my live receipt page with this script text in it. Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?

Are you adding a second <body> tag to a page that can only have one?

You need to look at the standard page code, and then merge the google stuf into the existing body tag.

Don't try to folow two sets of instructions at one time, I would stick with only Nigel's for a first attempt.

For my first attempt I copy/pasted Nigel's code as it was, but got the text box as described earlier. I then tried using Google's code but changing the variables to Actinic variables. Same result.

There is no <body> tag in the added script other than <body onLoad="javascript:_utmSetTrans()">, which is common to both Nigel's and Google's snippet. There is no <body> tag on the Act_Order04.html template, which is presumably not a standalone page.

Still get text box on receipt page.

Thank you William. I have tried copy/pasting the script as on the link that you gave me, into the end of my Act_Order04.html page. This script is the same or similar to that which I had already tried. However, on my live receipt page I still get a text box below the button at the bottom of the page, containing the result of the script. I don't want anything to appear on the actual page.

            Anybody succeeded in doing this?

Has anybody succeeded in adding the Google Analytics E-Commerce code to the Act_Order04.html template without a text box coming up on the customer's receipt page? If so, I would be grateful if you could tell me how.

I have successfully added the Google Analytics code to the Act_Primary.html and Act_BrochurePrimary.html templates and am getting reporting on Google through these. Just not getting the E-Commerce reporting, which is why I signed up for Analytics - I was already getting the other information through Stat Counter and through normal Google Adwords reporting.
