    CGI Error - misbehaved

    Hi all,

I'm hoping that someone can help me figure out what is going on with my sites. I run several sites on the same server and all were working properly. Now for some reason I get the following error. I've searched this site and found some similar references to this error and I have followed the suggestions but I still can't fix this. That is to say that I have replaced all the .pm and .pl files from the original folder but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas on this one? I can't post a URL as this is a confidential site (dealers only).

It appears to have something to do with selecting components. I can order the product without an error when I don't change any of the attribute choices. As soon as I change from a default choice I get this error.

    "CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

Can't use string ("2") as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at ao000050.pm line 3447."

    Please help if you can.
    Thank you, BH

      Lonnie,

Can you tell me if you first of deleted all the .pl and .pm files in the site1 folder before replacing them with those from the Original folder? This needs to be done in order for Actinic to generate a fresh set when you refresh your site. The error looks like you tried editing ActinicOrder.pm and have put in a value '2' somewhere that is causing the error.

You could also try doing a Purge and refresh from within Actinic. Go to Help | Troubleshooting and click on 'Website Purge and Refresh', select both options and click on delete and refresh.

      Kind regards,

        Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I had deleted all the .pl and .pm files and refreshed but to no avail. I am going over all modifications I have made to see if I can track this one down. It doesn't appear to be the scripts though.

BTW - I don't seem to have a "Website Purge and Refresh" under "troubleshooting". I'm on developer if that makes any difference.

          Lonnie,

I don't really have an answer for you but we are on developer 7.0.5 and if I Click on Help then Troubleshooting it shows the Website Purge and Refresh Bruce refers to in an section labelled Support Tools. Infact it the very last item before the close button!

Just double check it's not there. If not maybe its related to your version?

...for some reason I don't have this option. Here is a picture of what I do have under my help>troubleshooting menu.

            Thanks,
            Lonnie

              Lonnie,

What version of developer are you running?

Sorry Lonnie but I am struggling on this one. Have you checked your .pdf user guides to see if that gives any indication of where this option is?

Hopefully Bruce or someone else will pick up on this and be more help than I obviously am

                    Hi Dave,

I've looked in the help file (not the PDF) and it bascially describes the functions of the troubleshooting tools but there is no reference to a Website Purge and Refresh. I'll dig into the PDF file now and see if it sheds any light on this.

                    Thanks Dave,
                    Lonnie

Hi Jo, I know that I will have to do this at some point as well anyways but are you saying that the Website Purge and Refresh option only became available in version 7.06?

The only issue I have with upgrading is that this problem is only happening on one site (throughout) and sparatically on another but 3 other sites are fine. I'm concerned that by upgrading I end up with a bigger mess than I already have.

A quick read through the problems solved in each patch should resolve your concerns. I'd be very surprised if you are running multiple sites and not falling victim to at least one of the patch resolved items.

You don't have to got through sequential patches - you can go straight from 7.0.1 to 7.0.6 (as you probably already know, but this might help someone else).

Ya, I'm going to have to do the upgrade and see what happens. I guess the worse thing would be that I have to "roll back" and that isn't the end of the world. Thanks and I'll repost the results.

OK, I have upgraded all my sites to 7.0.5 but it didn't help. I am going to rebuild all my sites once v8 is released. Is there a timeframe for the release of the new version?
