    coupon codes

    Hi!

    Just a quick question.

I have been running an advert in the Dora the Explorer comic for my new pre-shool miffy shop. As a buying incentive I have offered a 5% discount using the coupon code 'dora'.

We have seen a small increase in sales over the weekend, but... I have been reviewing the orders and no one is using the coupon code 'dora'.

Now when you offer free stuff this shows up on the orders, as items with negative values alongside them (ie free...)

Do Coupon Code show up on orders, or should I be double checking the prices people are paying to see if they have used the Dora coupon code?

    Thanks,
    Sally Dickson

    Sally,

The Coupon Code is downloaded and stored in the database. It is not possible to see the coupon code on the order, you can only see the activity as a report.

If you want to check which orders have the coupon code against them, you will have to open ActinicCatalog.mdb in the site1 folder and open the 'Order' table, look under column 'sCouponCode'. You could make a back up and save it to another name and then check just to make sure nothing happens to the original :-).

    Kind regards,

Does this still apply to v8? I'm looking for where coupon codes have been used - the staff assure me coupons have definitely been used, but in sCouponCode the fields are all blank except for maybe 30 or so oldish ones that read "No coupon found".

I don't think that this has changed between v7 and v8.

Having delved a little deeper, the coupon code is found in sCoupon on the OrderDetail table
