Sorry If I seem a bit annoyed but we seem to be speaking two different languages on this subject and honestly we have discussed this before in detail. There are work arounds for your issue. Although nothing is 100% automated with some minor tweaking you can extract the data you need and re imput the data into your new quickbooks file.
HERE IS AN IMPORTANT FACT THAT YOU ARE IGNORING.
Your immediate problem would be solved by moving to Quickbooks enterprise. You would fix the issue for a few years. So Start by upgrading to QB Enterprise.
Next you can create an invenory report with inventory items and the quanitity on hand. You can also create an item list in quickbooks. You can put both reports directly into excel, sort by the item number and merge the two reports. You can then import the new item list ( with the quanitity values on hand and update your quickbooks file without rekeying 6000 products)
If you do not understand how to do the above merge of data I suggest that you contract with SSI to complete the work for you.
That is a working solution to your inevetory issues.
