    Other Info Question not working

    http://www.mxbits.com/acatalog/CLUB_MX_BITS.html

    If you look at link above you will see a list of products that have options. You will also notice that in the description we have had to state that we would contact the customer to get further details. The reason we did this is because the Other Info Question would not work. We now have time to go back and fix it and wondered if anyone has seen this issue before?

    From the testing we have done it appears that having a basic product i.e. without any options the Other Info Question will work. As soo as you add options it stops working. This behavioour is also seen in the example products e.g. Bunch of Flowers and Diary.

    We havew tested on various different patch levels of V7 and the behaviour is consistent across all.

    Your help would be much appreciated.

    If you could enable the Other Info Question for one product we'd be able to see what's happening.

    EDIT

    I see now. You are using Quantity on Confirmation Page for your Sections and the prompt is appearing there. This was the default in Actinic V3 and is little used nowadays.

    However, It seems to be working fine for me. Try adding something to the cart and report what you get.

    I'm not able see what you get in the downloaded order but I've made a dummy purchase and the confirmation email contained

      cool thanks for the info.

      I have found the setting 'Design Options / Shop Defaults' and you are corect it was set to Quantiy on Confirmation Page. I tried switching to Quanity in Shopping Cart and there was no change. I then changed the setting to Quantity on Product Page and the fields are now shown where we were expecting them to be seen.

      What is the overall effects of changing this parameter other tham making this work. Will we see changes else where?

        Using Quantity on Product Page will have added the Quantity field to the product page (that one's obvious). This mode also moves any prompts (Other Info and Date) to the product pages. That's pretty much it.

          Is there any way to have the other info question on the product page, but to have the quantity on the confirmation page or in the shopping cart, or indeed to remove the quantity option altogether?

            Sounds like you want 'quantity always 1'

              I've just changed to 'quantity always 1', but the quantity box still appears on the product page. I want to get rid of that box, but still have the other info question on the product page. Is that possible?

                CSS allows you to do this.

                Wrap the quantity box code between <span class="hiddenCode"> .... </span>

                in the actinic.css add:

                .hiddenCode {
                display: none;
                }
