    2 pennies worth

God I hope not! but I guess that has come from a hatred of paypal let alone a google equivalent. Paypal is all very well for ebay usage but personally I strongly recomend our clients to not use paypal with their actinic stores and I would do the same with this to.

Not that there is anything wrong parse about it but it just looks Sooooo C*&p (sorry just could not think of a better word!) and I find the whole interface off putting. Also I think they charge far to much in fees and the calculation alogrythm to complicated to budget p&l easily, you are better off using another psp.

Personaly speaking I would never buy from a store that used PayPal outside of Ebay. And I would do the same to this.

Not only that but having used Adwords and many other business related products with google on more than one ocassion I have needed to contact them and I find their overall customer services appaling (if you if you get a reply...), could you imagine if something went wrong with this, it could be a nightmare!

Just my own thoughts and 2 pennies.

    Best

    Jez

something that google have, that paypal does not, is trust.

sadly, i do not agree with you on that one. depending on the nature of the product, paypal is the perfect provider, particularly if your demographic is that way inclined. and, more to the point, mine is

google is an immense company, and i'm sure that their customer support is bursting at the seams with problems. google is notorious for giving out copious informaiton on their easily accessible APIs. and i'm sure that their payment gateway will be equally well documented.

i feel that by no means will this latest adventure for google be poorly executed. in fact, i anticipate their furious adventures in ajax and customer relations means that their api will tidily integrate with actinic. much more cleanly than paypal.

Totally agree with your demographic point and if you build a relationship between ebay and your store then sure use it, just not for me ;-)

Can't speak for the rest, not technical enough. Guess it comes down to individual experiance's with their c/s, I am not sure I like where google are going and I think I will hold back any thoughts on them for a while. They may well give out copius amounts of info but I do feel they are the masters of subterfuge.

I would hope that all of us would wait a year or so and see if this new launch even exists at that time before trying to add it to our sites.

It will only be worth adding if it avoids the 'con artist' slur that has damaged its rivals, works effectively, and builds a worthwhile user base.
