I'm using 1&1 hosting for my website and I can't set up the email setting correctly.
I have the correct username and password and the correct server path. When I type these in under Advanced -> Network settings... -> Email settings and click test it tells me that the server doesn't exist (auth.smtp.1&1.co.uk) even though my email client connects fine and the window after this one tells me that the server does indeed exist. Using 'Requires password and username' checked or unchecked makes no difference.
1&1 say; 'Please note: To send e-mail using the SMTP-Server, activate SMTP Authentication. Please do not use the Secure Password Authentication (SPA) option. Optionally, port 587 can also be used in addition to the default port RFC 2476.'
Any ideas on how to get this to work?
