Checkout Layout problem with Empty basket

Hi All,

Having a layout problem and not sure where to go to find the solution.

When I have no items in my cart and I select the checkout option a screen appears advising my cart is empty and I should add items first. Most of my site design is based on sections in columns.

The message is displayed in what looks like a section box as opposed to the full width of the screen. I cannot find anywhere in actinic where to correct this. I have established that the text comes from a Design Text entry but I am not sure what template puts it on the page as a perl script seems to create it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Have you looked at Act_ShoppingCartXML .. (or similarly named)

Thanks for your input.

Yes, have checked the content of the shoppingcartXML file and I cannot find anything in there. I guess the burning question is what controls the layout of the page shown in the screenshot!

Any more ideas anyone?

Do you have a URL for the site yet? In the section pages do you have anything to the right in a column? Not seeing the it is guess work but could be coming from the global setting of ACTSTDWIDTH

Hi Jont,

Still having major problems with this. It seems to affect other pages as well. I am just stumped and cannot find the relevant template.

I also have a few other questions and wondered if you may be able to help. As a developer subscriber I was going to call Actinic and speak to their web support, most of these things are cosmetic but important and I wanted to avoid having to post lots of threads.

Any help would as always be appreciated.

The box too comes from Design | Text. Phase:-1 ID: 2178 & 2180

Thanks for the post.

Just checked the Design text you quoted and the table width is 530 pixels in ID: 2178 and there is no width specified for the <td> tag. Therefore I do not understand why this piece of text does not completely fill the width of the content area.

Quote why Actinic has some HTML in templates and other in Design text areas is beyond me - this only makes life difficult.

Therefore, I am still none the wiser. Quote why the text is shown in what appears to be a column is a mystery based on your suggestion. Any other ideas?

Something is setting the table width at 277 - try a windows desktop search for includes text 277 on all the files in your site folder.

Thanks William, got there in the end. However, it is not the first time I have searched for something with the Windows Search function only to be told that nothing was present. Yet, when I opened up the template file I found it. Strange!
