Email problem

We have a site which is working fine on a Fasthosts server, however we are having a problem sending out conformation emails, we are not in control of the DNS so the domain is not on Fasthosts Nameservers, the dns for the web record (working fine) is pointing at the server IP, also the FTP record, however the mail record is pointing to the customers exchange server, can't get the mail to work from the site, any ideas??

I think fashosts will not allow mail relay in this type of situation.

You don't say how the MX record is set up...

The MX record for the mail is pointing to the customers mail server (exchange) in their office. The mX for web is pointing at the space on Fasthosts

Managed to sort this problem, worth noting if anyone uses Fasthosts, in the domain control panel there is a mail server IP address, I put this into the network settings and all works fine, this seems to overcome the MX reco
rd for the mail being sent somewhere else. Cheers all for replying
