    Purging files

Ok, so i have been adding and removing product to this website for a short while, which means that i have been adding things to the 'Site1' folder quite a lot, what with most of them having a thumbnails and full images,
Now when you delete items in actinic, you can purge the site, and it removes the information within the database which is great, but is there a way of deleting the images from within the 'site1' folder, sort of a 'purge folder' option,

    Thanks

Hmmm, nobody got any ideas on this one,
What about a way to generate a list of the files used buy actinic, and then i can manualy remove the unused images.

Actinic does not provide any reports on the content within the site1 folder nor will it delete files from it, as it does not really know what you would want to keep or delete, so it leaves well alone, which is best policy really.

So, long and the short of it is, manual intervention on your part.

We always create sub-folders within the Site1 (sitename) folder to place images and the like, especially when large builds are done based on dates or seasons, so easier to control, so maybe an idea for management in the future although will not solve your bulging site1 now I am afraid without your manually doing it.

But it does, sort of. Still a long winded process, but if you create a subfolder off site1, and move all your images over, then try to upload from Actinic and it will complain about each file.

You can move them back when Actinic complains, and at the end of the day, you are left with the 'extras' in your subfolder. Don't delete them just yet - first make sure the whole site is working correctly, but after a week or so with no problems - off they go to the dusty.
