    Importing own website

    Hi,

I am currently trailing Actinic Catalogue and am wanting to know how to import my own website into the program. It uses CSS for the general tempate and html for each individual page design.

Can anyone tell me how to import this information?

    Regards,

    Trevor

You need to use the Template Manager (Advanced | Template Manager).

This contains tabs and buttons to tons of templates which makes up the site, i.e. overall, bits in the middle, dynamic bits dependant on whether it is a section, product or fragment.

You can customize quite a lot of stuff, but you will need to know the templates to do it fully and completely.

Check the user manual for basic template tweaks (Design) and also in the getting started guide (whilst you trial), and also the Advanced User Guide (AUG) which is available from the Actinic website in its download section, which details advanced tweaking in a lot of detail.

Afraid it will not be as simple as a one click import of your site into the Actinic template system, but this should put you on the right track to understanding and learning this.

      Hi Trevor,

thankfully as you are only trialling at the moment v8 allows you to create the overall "outer page" in Dreamweaver ... register the design with Actinic via the DW plugin and Actinic then adds in all it's funky stuff.

You can then modify the "inner" layouts such as products etc inside v8 using the design tab.

Worth downloading v8 Beta from the Actinic site as v7 is about to be replaced

As jont says with V8 it is almost as simple as one click. Forget the V7 trial and go for V8 the two are very different and trialing both will only confuse you.

The only problem with V8 is you need dreamweaver to get the site import function.
