I am trying out the Actinic V7.0.6. The search first work ok when I just started. After some modifications of templates and uploadings of new products, I tested the search again and found that it was not working any more: all the keywords in the product descriptions yielded "no matching...." message. I have tried the following:
1. Enabled the "search by section" option, still no matching
2. Enabled the "price range" option, products came out according to the price range but not the keywords.
3. Changed "index products"/"index product duplicates"/"Index page fragment" options back and forth. did not work.
4. Removed all the words in the "Not searchable". did not work
5. Removed "highlight keywords options". did not work
6. Set the permission of all .fil files to 777. did not work
7. deleted all the .fil files on site and in "site1" folder, updated again. did not work.
8. copied all perl files from "original" folder to "site1" and refresh the site. did not work.
9. last resort, used Help-Troubleshoot-Web site purge and refresh. also not working.
Now I almost have to give up and reinstall the software again. But how to avoid this problem, and if it did happen again, how to resolve it?
