    Automatically populate attribute choices

    Hi all.

I'm trying to create a 'Build your own PC' section for our web site. I'd like a series of drop-down lists for customers to choose their own case, motherboard, hard drive, etc.

To do this manually for the number of products we have, and the frequency at which they change, would be a nightmare. As we already have catalogue sections for each component is there a way to auto-populate it based on all products in a catalogue section?

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Not possible sorry.

No way that Actinic can know or guess what items need to be added to an option or not, but if you have the options already created as products in there own right within the database of products, then you will need to create your choices under the components and attributes, then you can link them to the real product (if you want it to be connected in this manner), but no way to get Actinic to automatically pick and add options to drop downs, although maybe a scripter could write something that could add them at upload/generation time, but would be a job no doubt to achieve.

Hi, thanks for the reply here too

If we have to create them manually then that's what we'll do.
