Slow Site?

My V7 built sites seems painfuly slow at times. I've had people outside of my company network look at the site and they've said the same thing - the speed of navigating the site and inparticular going through the chcekout is very inconsistent, sometimes OK, sometimes slow and looks like it's going to hang.

I'm using Easyspace's top hostng package so I'm assuming our hosting is OK (although I'll ask them the same question).

Most of the images are around 5kb apart from the top image which is 16Kb.

Is there anything I can do improve this, assuming it can be improved?

Have tested your site this morning on 10mb and 3mb b/b and it loaded fine first time.

If you google 'site speed' there is a wealth of free checking tools out there that could help you monitor future performance.

looks like it's going to hang

Had the same feeling - the homepage took 22 seconds to download on .5meg. It failed to load the banner but when I checked its size it looks ok. It does not look like there is anything odd with the way Actinic is setup. Have you done any modifications other than what is available within the software.

Im seeing some broken internal and external links which may be slowing things a little eg (http://www.kvmexpress.co.uk/acatalog...er_Cables.html and several pdf files showing 404s.

Also your email links are showing some errors. Perhaps a bit of a tidy up may help but it would be worth checking/monitoring the server speed, you could also do a load test to see if that is causing the problem.
