Creating affiliate links to my site...

Help. I have a number of comapnies who wish to sell my product from their site by putting a link to my catalogue rather than actually sell directly from their sites (They do not wish to buy stock for resale).

I am happy with this but need to track products ordered in this fashion so that I can pay the original site owner a commission.

Any ideas?

I think you need to get work referrer.pl. I would suggest you to check the "Using The Referrer Perl Script" in the Advanced User Guide.

Thanks. I have just started to read about this. I still have a question though. The referrer website owner has asked ho w they will know that a sale has occurred - using referrer.pl means that I can track if an order has occurred but it also means that the referrrer has to trust me to tell them.

There are affiliate software packages available that update the referrer and me but I would appreciate some advice on which package to use.
