    Colour drop-down errors.

This one is for Norman really, but advice from others is welcome.

I am using Actinic Developer Lite V7.0.6.
I installed the patch "Displaying Colours in Choice Drop-Downs" earlier today from Drillpine.

Excellent patch and there appeared to be no problems, the site working ok.

However, when I later went in to work on a product that did not require the "Colour" dropdown I got an "Invalid Character" message.
    The file was P_Index.html
Following this through, I identified the invalid character to be every occurrence of the "£".

    The website itself works ok.

It is just the small preview or wide preview window in Actinic developer Lite itself that has a problem.

Do you have any suggestions please?

Have you an URL of a live faulty page so I can see what's happening?

      The site itself is ok.
      For reference the site is:
      http://www.renown1886.co.uk/acatalog...Shirts_20.html
The first shirt has the colour dropdown and this is fine.

The error occurs ONLY in the small preview or wide preview window in Actinic developer Lite itself.

I have restored my backup copies of ACT_Primary etc and the problem goes away.
Of course, I can no longer use the colour dropdowns.
(I haven't republished yet, therefore you can still see the dropdown version above).

I tried using ACT_Primary and ACT_PrimaryColour but it still caused problems.
It can't therefore be code in ACT_Primary or optioncoloursupport.js
It must be something in the mod versions of:
      VariantListHeader
      VariantListChoice
      VariantListFooter

Thanks for the prompt reply by the way.

You're using an old version of that patch. I've rewritten it to be much more elegant and to generate far less code.

I'd recommend getting the current one from www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff

This also switches the underlying text to white if you choose a very dark colour (so you can see the word "Black" against a black background).

          Thanks.

          Many Thanks Norman.
As always, a prompt and effective solution.

I want to use the same Colour Coded dropdown in version 8.
Given that the original solution required a patch to ACTPrimary and that V8 works completely differently, is there a similar solution?
