a menu listing by Brand and a menu listing by Category

Posted to the beta 8 section of this forum too:

I have a shop that we want to a list menu of products by brands (nike, adidas, puma) AND also a list menu of the same products by category (tops, shorts, shoes) - is it possible for actinic to produce menus in this way?

Yes - but you will need to use duplicate products to populate the duplicate sections.

    Eg:

    Nike:
    >>tops
    >>shorts
    >>shoes

    Tops:
    >>Nike
    >>Puma
    >>Reebok

You will need sections (pages) for each of the brands with the type of clothing beneath and then copy the products as dupliactes into new sections set up with the type of clothing and the brands beneath

Chris Dickens has a nice little alternative to acheive this:

Chris' first solution is the same as provided above.

Depending on your user base I would test drive the idea of generating a search result from a hard-coded link ....it may suit some users but others may prefer to see a static page with a complete over view of similar products in that category.

Site usability should be your primary objective in allowing users to find what they want quickly and easily (and to find similar alternatives) and with minium clicks
