    Adwords Conversion Tracking

    Hello,

I'm trying to get Adwords Conversion Tracking up and running. I've followed some of threads - but am getting confused as to where the code should be placed.

Where should the code be placed? In Act_Order04.html? Or Act_ReceiptPrimary.html?

    Hi Mike.

Act_Order04.html is the last stage of the checkout process, but a customer can get to this page and then turn their PC off without entering their credit card details. This obviously wouldn't be a conversion.

To record conversions Act_ReceiptPrimary.html must be used. The user will only get to this stage after they've entered everything that's required for the sale to be complete.

    The following thread should help:

Thanks. This is really useful. But I have one question on one of the instructions:

      5) Now you need to set up your Receipt goal in Google Analytics. You can call it what you like. I call mine 'Receipt'.

      Goal Name: Receipt
      Goal URL: /receipt.html
How should the Goal URL be entered? As:

      http://www.yoursite.com/receipt.html

      or

      http://www.yoursite.com/acatalog/receipt.html

        Enter the goal URL as

        /receipt.html

...just as it is above with no domain or path.

This file doesn't actually exist. It's used as a marker to tell analytics that you've reached the goal.

          Hi Mike

You can also check this thread : http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=17591 (especially the one by Brian about the 'Goal URL' at the end of that thread)
          Kind Regards,
