bulk change - product reference

does anyone know how to bulk change of the product reference in actinic code

for example

current product code: 123456-wsale

new product code: 123456

i.e I want to remove the "-wsale" from all products

You need to be very careful if you try to do this outside of Actinic, the product reference string is used as the foreign key in the related tables so you must also change the references in the product property table and maybe others as well.
