Problems with hiding components within actinic :s

I am having problems with actinic and hiding components, underneath each product i was getting an output of each component and it was messing up our design and we did not want this information available to our customers.

i have managed to hide the text but there is still a blank space where the text would be and this also messes up our design.

example here :- http://www.3000rpm.com/acatalog/PRINTERS.html (note the space below quanity going down to add to basket)

does anyone know i can resolve this?

would appreciate any help, thanx guys!!

It looks as though you have new line specified as the separator between each non-optional component. Change that to user specified and don't specify anything - that should work.

On the product page, (click on the + beside the page name in the content tree on the left) select a product, click the + to show the components/attributes. Click each attribute and look for the separator setting in the gray area on the right.

Ok, i think that option is only on the attributes, we need this to work on the components

I think you need to check out the templates that do components. These files are in your 'Site1' folder and are called 'Act_VariantComponentName.html' and 'Act_VariantComponentName.html'. Look for any <br>s or <p>s in these files.

                  Chris - is that Act_VariantAttributeName.html and Act_VariantComponentName.html?

Thanks Chris, but unfortunately tried that already as well. I took out the p tags that were there.

Check the v7 Advanced User Guide and look at the guide to 'Design | Text | Website | HTML' at the back. Look under the 'Components and Attributes' section (might be called something different from this) to see if there are any <br> tags inserted via 'Design | Text'. Then try removing them from there.
