Product price based on component price - not displaying???

I have a lot of products that are based on components and all the parts change prices often, i have used the feature of a product to make the price the sum of each of the components but the price does not display like normal products and only shows once you add the product to the shopping cart.

is it possible to get the price to show and save needing to update all the time?

    thank you

Basically no, because at the time Actinic builds the static html page on your PC before publishing that page to the web, it has no idea what the compnents are that you customer has selected.

You can show the individual component prices by adding then to the HTML for component box as you create them, but you can't sum all the selected components till you get to the basket.

That's the price we pay in exchange for the SEO benefits of static pages as oposed to the dynamic (i.e. created only when needed, and disappear again immediately they are not needed) online database driven systems.

If you enter the minimum price as the product price then you can change the pricing template to say Price from, you will then get an indication of price shown, make sure that the pricing model is set to sum of components though, rather than sum of product and components :-) Doing this is also useful for marketing feeds such as froogle, as they will also use the from price.
