    Mail issue

hi, im having problems with my mail settings, i have been downloading orders from the site, and am now trying to send the custom there password for there account. Yet i get the same error every time

Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

    Possible Cause:
    1. Network transmission problems.
    2. Could have Changed the SMTP Server settings, but not Uploaded after that.

    Recommendation:
    1. Retry
    2. Upload the Site First, if you have changed the SMTP Server Settings.

    Resolution:
If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
    or contact your ISP.

    The error was:
58322james13009@hotmail.comError returned from SMTP server (4: <james13009@hotmail.com>... Relaying denied

    Command: send Filename:

Yet i have tested my settings in the network setup and they work fine, i have also tried using localhost which tested fine but still came up with the same problem when i tried to send the password.

also i can recieve confirmation when orders are place on my website, through email.

Problems only occur when trying to send mail from the actinic program, such as sending the password or even sending "order shipped notification"

The Actinic programme should be setup to use the mail provided on your domain.

Actinic sends the mails from the website server.

This has been covered in great depth many times. - a search on your particular host's name may yield specific settings.

You can stick with btconnect as your Internet Connection provider and still use your website email server to send the Actinic mail, can't you? That would seem to be the solution used by all of the posters in that thread, who did resolve their problems.

i can't because my host wants me to charge me alot for doing it.

          i have tried
          mail.btconnect.com
          smtp.btconnect.com

as the smtp servers both work in the test but, when i attually send an email out side my companies mail domain (ie for example to a hotmail) address it get the same error

it seems to me you are stuck between a rock and a hardplace,

Names do not provide SMTP unless you use their broadband package or pay them more money.

My recommendation is to find another host that will allow SMTP
