    hiding images

    Hi there

Is it possible to remove the images within a section and leave
the products listed with a description and the add to cart button
so they are available to buy
without trawling through and deleting all the images

    Regards

yes change the template not to show the product image, or use the template that is called compact or similar as this one doesn't display the image

      hiding images

      Hi there
Thank you for your prompt reply

I had a look and the section layout templates dont give me this choice
(I am a bit of a novice at this) if i browse were would i look to find
      this compact template.

I realise this may seem a strange thing to be doing but I am having
a problem with a supplier who doesnt want me to use there images
and i need to not show them for the moment.

I did try the option to list with description but it took out the
price and the add to cart button.

      Kind Regards

      Graham

The layout you need is described as "No image, laid out in rows" in the dropdown.

          hiding images

          hello there Bill

Thanks for that it works fine but still leaves me with the image
          on the extended information page

is there an easy way to disable this or do I have to go through
          each product unticking the box

          Kind Regards

do the same to the extened info template, ie edit the template so it doesnot show the image

or chose a template that does not include the image ie shows text and title only

By changing thetemplate you can leave all the references to theimagesin tact so you can restore them at a later dateif necessary

              Hi there Jo

Thank you for your reply, the section extended info default templates
              dont give this option.

If I use any other than the parent it gives me the option to edit
and opens a window for me to do this.

is this were I make a change and if so could you advise me how
to edit it to remove the image

              Kind Regards

              Graham

There is nosuch thing as extended info onsections, only on products.

Assuming all products use the same template, check which template you are using by going to Design menu, options, layouts.

Locate (towards the bottom of the dialog box) Extended Product Information. The box here tells you which template is in use.

I notice from my copy of V7 that all templateshave an image. Therefore we need to remove it. Select the following template "Name and info text displayed below image" this willensure the resultant layout is balanced without the image, ie text full width, not just down the left or right

                Click the button, edit.

                locate

                <img src="NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGE" width=NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGEWIDTH height=NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGEHEIGHT>

we are going to wrap comment tags around this to stop it from showing the image

                hence

                <!-- <img src="NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGE" width=NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGEWIDTH height=NETQUOTEVAR:INFOIMAGEHEIGHT> -->

we add <!-- before the code and --> after

                save the file

when you want to show the image, reverse this ie remove <!-- blah blah -->

Jo Just like to say that did the trick!!

I modified the template "without the name text below image"
which enabled me to select it for the 2 sections i needed
                    to remove the images in

as all the rest of the site uses the "Name and text below image template"

                    Many Thanks

                    Graham
