    SSL and checkout pages

    Hello All

Is it possible to include within the SSL cert the whole checkout steps, right from selecting location, name and address and then the credit card details???

I am using a shared SSL cert and currently it only appears that the credit card details page is within the Https page and my client is worried that customers wont use the website and indeed a few have mentioned when calling them.

    Thanks

With a dedicated SSL certificate, the whole site can be placed on https with the accompanying slowdown in response as the page requests are translated.

With shared SSL it is normal to *only* protect the pages on which sensitive data is stored.

The customer name and address is already publicly available in the electoral roll, the telephone book (unless they are ex-directory) and probably several other places.

About the only thing to do short of going with the dedicated SSL, is to include an information page discussing this, and linking to resources such as the governments http://www.itsafe.gov.uk/index.html online safety site.
