    Cut or delete

What if any is the difference between cutting or deleting a product. The reason I ask is because with cutting you don't need to go through the extra work of purging.

Cutting places the 'cut part' into the clipboard; deleting marks for deletion when purged. Both will do the job as you've found out but the neater way is to delete which does not use the clipboard memory. After cutting (as well as deleting) you should compact.

Out of interest you can type the following at the command prompt to view (and use) the clipboard: clipbrd

I am more interested in what effect it has on Actinic and the database and not worried about the clipboard. If it has the same effect then cutting would be a time saver imo.

It has the same effect as deleting followed by purge.

But each 'cut' item will take up PC memory until it is deleted from the clipboard, so at some stage your PC will slow down - unless you have a routine to empty the clipboard.

Actinic only keeps one item in the clipboard, it is emptied before the next item is added, so this will not happen.

Jan, take it you found that out when you tried to do a multiple cut and paste?

Useful to know, though - thanks.
