    Major Problem with snapshot

I have had a bit of a double whammy today LOL , dont you love computers !!!

I came in this morning and the XP PC was screwed up , so I did an xp reinstall and asked it to leave the file system intact hoping that Actinic would just run but alas it wont!!!

The other double whammy being that my partner formatted the memory card with the snapshot files on to use in her mp3 player . aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

All the files are intact on the hd in the program files directory but obviously I cant do alot with them , Can anyone offer any advice apart from the obvoius backing up more often to different media / Hinesite etc

    Any Help graciously appreciated

    Best Regards

if all the files are intact you should be able to carry on as before. I'm not really sure what you are asking for help with here.

try to recover the file from the memory card..

      Hi,

Has your partner filled up the memory card with MP3's?

If not you may be able to recover the snapshot....

Download the demo version of this recovery software and it should tell you if you can get it back.
      Thanks

The files are in the program files directory but I get an error message saying .

Unable to open the registry key Software|Actinic|catalog7 the system could not find the file specified.

This maybe is because i cannot attempt to run the catalog from the taskbar as usual , I can only click on the catalog icon in the actinic7 directory

        Any help Much Appreciated

        Thanks Alot

I'm not sure if you've tried this, but if not it's worth a go:
            1. Make a backup of your Actinic folder, just so that it doesn't get overwritten
            2. Install Actinic
            3. In Actinic, create a new site
            4. Close Actinic and overwrite the site folder you have just created with the site folder from your backup
            5. Open up Actinic and hope it works

This will make sure that Actinic creates its registry entries and that you have all your files in the right place.

            Good luck!

Hi Rob , Thanks , Getting somewhere now , I did what you said and lo and behold eveyrything is there , however i get an error message when i go to download orders

The server scripts are incompatible with this version of actinic . please refresh the website ( which I have done )

If order processing is split from maintenance etc ( IT ISNT )

If the error persists then copy the perl scripts from the original subdirectory and try again

                Server version = "7 FEVA" Client version " 7GBGA )

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL , I HAVE REFRESHED THE SITE ( WHICH IT DID OK ) but still get this message trying to download orders

Once again thanks for your time and assistance it is very much appreciated

I'm guessing this is caused by your previous Actinic install being patched and your current install not being patched to the same version. Have you tried installing the latest patch and then doing a refresh?

the error message re incompatible scripts is covered in the forumand/or KB

do a search using the "server scripts are incompatible" as keywords.

I think you have to copy the pl files fro the original folder before refreshing, but you will find full instructions in the forum
