Adding Australia as country to ship to

    Hi

I thought this would be simple but it just doesn't seem to work and I'm pulling my thinning hair out.

I have the following set up as different tax zones and countries to ship to : UK, Canada, EU & USA.

This works fine. All I have tried to do is add Austalia as a country to ship to but no matter what I do it will not appear in the 'Select desination for shipping' in the drop down list during checkout.

Under Business Settings I've added Australia as a shipping band by Zone (and it appears in the list of countries to ship to by zone, same as the other countries do.

Added it as a Tax zone under the Tax tab and it now appears there as the other countries do.

Uploaded and refreshed my browser several times but can't select it as a country during checkout, its just not there.

Probably something simple? Any ideas please?

Using the Smart Theme if that makes any difference.

Have you added a shipping class to the Australia zone? That seems to be the only thing missing.

Thanks for your reply, yes I did. I added the class 'Airmail' and set several order amounts that change the postage costs (as I have done for the other countries). Such as order value £29.99, cost = £5.99, order value £99.99, cost = £9.99 etc etc.

I've checked the other settings against my other countries and there is no difference so I can't see what would stop the country appearing in the drop down list. Very odd.

Ok problem solved. I compacted the database (what that does I don't know) and the country has now appeared. Sometimes the solutions are so simple

compacting an access database (like the one actinic uses) will reduce its size.

and much more important to the Actinic user, it will also reduce (even eliminate most of the time) data read errors caused by the blank rows retained [though marked as deleted, and not normally shown in the interactive views] in the middle of the tables.
