    Meta keywords will not update on the website!

    Hi everyone,

    Im getting really fustrated now as i have tried everything but the meta keywords that i am putting in on actinic to optermise my webpages are still in the wrong order when i look at the 'view source' on the net! however on actinic they are showing in the correct order? This will affect my page ranking on google and how i am searched so it is REALLY IMPORTANT!

    I dont think my actinic is working properly and would really like a number so i can explain my frustration! I have been working for hours on this!!

    Many thanks,

    alex

    its possible that your browser is keeping old versions of you pages in cache, try pressing Ctrl + f5 to force a full refesh of the site in IE or Firefox, and look then

        Hi Alexander,

        The META tags sequence is hard-coded in the C++ code so can't be changed. I'm not aware of any reason why the sequence of the META tags would affect the SE results at this point in time as they are not taken into consideration by SE anymore. Check this forum for SEO and you should see several topics discussing this in great detail.

        If you however want to have them appear correctly, the way you want them to, then you will first off need to make some changes. You will have to make a switch in the Meta Decription and Meta Keyword entries, by switching them over, meaning the Keyword field holds the description and vice versa. Then in 'Design | Text' click on 'Go To' and in the ID field enter 1182, this should show you
        <META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="%s">
        The line right below (ID : 1183) should show
        <META NAME="Description" CONTENT="%s">
        You will have to switch them over so that ID: 1182 reads <META NAME="Description" CONTENT="%s"> and 1183 reads <META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="%s">.

        Click on Apply, then OK and update your store. You should now see that the Description appears before the Keywords. Its not ideal but it gets the job done.

        Hope this helps,
