Ok, I have changed all the files in the acatalog folder to 777 and all the files in the cgi-bin to 755. Still getting a general script error.

I have sent another support request to the hosting company detailing what you said about the permissions. I will post it here as soon as I receive it.

      Thanks,

      Mark.

        From Servage Support....
        Hello Mark,

I have investigated the files and could not find any problems.

However the problem seems to be session related.

I got the following error message:

        "A General Script Error Occurred
Error: ../acatalog/87Z122Z61Z126A1156231907B15568.session can not be locked during Session init!Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner"

        In:

        http://modellersmecca.co.uk/cgi-bin/...motives%2ehtml

To replicate the message i clicked on "View cart" and "Checkout" and couple of times.

You should forward the message to Actinic Support.
        Useless!

Any other ideas? Maybe another host that we know works? And I can attempt to reclaim my payment from Servage.

        Mark.

You can register for a Trial site @ http://trials.actinic.com/ upload to check that the site functions etc. You can then check to see for another host.

          Take a look at http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=17459

          Kind regards,

            Hi,

I was the support staff that have investigated the issue. And i have have found out the issue was with mod_perl. Is Actinic not compatible with mod_perl?

Well, i have changed the parser to cgi-script and now Actinic runs without any errors.

Hi I am evaluating v.8 actinic with a view to buy if I can get it to work

                My host - www.servage.net

Problem - email - smtp problems

I noticed you are on servage - does your email work - i.e. have you set up actinic to send you an email when a customer places an order?

If it does work would you mind posting your settings for SMTP etc. (not passwords of course )

                cheers

                Denis
