Laugh or you may cry! V4 Cart problem

    OK, so far I have...

    1. unistalled V4 from my PC. Although the folders remained in place.

    2. Downloaded and installed V4.1.0

    3. Downloaded and installed the patch 4.1.1

    4. deleted all .pl and .pm files from the site 1 folder and replaced them with the files from Original.

    5. Deleted everything Actinic-related from the server.

    6. Uploaded the entire site from scratch.

    7. Refreshed again.

The problem is exactly the same. The cart contains no prices, Vat or totals.

Its good to have a sense of humour eh?

Can anybody tell me which files are resonsible for creating, building etc the shopping cart? At least then I can check them.

I have replaced all the .pl and .pm files with those from original. What other files could I replace without doing too much damage?

Any help would be much appreciated and may keep me out of a psychiatric institution,

    Cheers,

    Kevin

          site

Sorry, that is because I deleted the site again and refreshed it, this time using the demo site that comes with V4. You must have tried to look at it during that time.

Anyway, i ave uploaded the demo site and it works fine. I'm not sure if that helps me much, except that the problem lies within the site itself and not the installatin or the server.

I'm fairly sure that the problem lies with a modded or corrupted template or file which is used to create the Cart. Where would I look to find out which files are used?

            Ok.....i've placed an order....

I notice that your prices are in the descriptions of the components. Have you filled your components with the actual price..it is the component table that feeds the price to the perl scripts

Pricing model needs to be price plus component

              Pricing

              Hi Jo,

Yes, al the component's prices were done. The pricing model is sum of all comonenets as the product price is zero. It's been working fine for over a year until I saved the site from my client, installed it on my PC, then updated and uploaded it.

As the demo site works, i am thinking of copying the sections, delete the site then licence a site, and paste in the sections. there isn't a huge amount of customisation so it should'nt be too bad. I'll have to just take notes of all the settings. Anything else you think i should be wary of?

I'll obviously back up the site so if it does go horribly wrong I can still restore it,

              Here's hoping...

I would create a bed product in the demo site (manually) see if it works...

also copy and paste a product from the old site, examine the database to show differences

                  Components and pricing

You were right. it was down to pricing of components. The site is Ok now and users can place an order, so thanks for your help, but I can't quite figure out exactly how to do the components, attributes and choices.

Please take a look at this URL: http://www.wholesalebeds.co.uk/acata...steads_16.html

If you select Felo, then a mattress is selected automatically along with a mattress upgrade. I turned on the Optional element on the product but that doesn't work. I need people to be able to select a size and mattress but upgrade. Basically I want their to be choices, but no defaut if nothing is selected. Elsewhere on the site, a a previous webbie has used a 'Blank' as the first Choice. Is this necessary,

                  Thanks,

                  Kevin

I must admit when looking at the felo, I don't understand what the upgrade is for.

I understand double or king size bed, and coil or foam mattress, but what am I upgrading?

                      Felo

                      Hi Jo,

You're right it doesn't make sense. I've spoken to the client and we are going to redo it all. By the way, in my browser the products seem to overrun the page. I am in 1024x750? and the text is expanding past the edges so I have to scroll. Do you get that as well? Do you know how to correcft that?

                      Thanks

                      kevin

Yes the page does overhang on 1024, and of course 800x600.

I think it may be the size of your images pushing everything out
