Whilst adjusting my site ready for the new postal rates I now find that no choice is being given to the customer regarding which serice they would like and the default of 2nd class for the UK and surface mail for customers abroad. Could anyone guess what I've done wrong? Answers in novice terms would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Look under View | Business Settings | Shipping and Handling
Bottom right you see a matrix with the shipping costs defined.. check to see if the classes are still there beneath the zone eg:
Zone : UK
1st class
2nd class
Signed For
Zone : International
Airmail
Express
Sounds like you may have deleted a class. To add back in simply highlight the zone, right click "add class" and select from exisiting or create a new.

I've found the problem on this was 'mallformed xml cart template'. Don'r know how it happened but I've reloaded a backup and re-input info and seems to be OK now.Comment
