I can't connect to the FTP server anymore fo no apparent reason

Hi Can anyone Help. I have successfully uploaded our Actinic store on several occassions. However despite none of the network settings changing it seems to have stopped working. When testing it shows a message saying the session with the FTP site was terminated. I have someone who is trying to configure ePDQ with the site and he can't connect to the server through Actinic either. We can both connect to the server via other means and he can connect to other servers through Actinic. Does anyone have any suggestions. It is very odd as it was working before. I am not very technical so can't really figure it out.

Can you connect via an ordinary ftp program at all - could be the server admin has changed a password etc.

Yes I can connect to the server via other connections. There does seem to be a problem there. When I test the Actinic network setup it tells me it can't connect to the server and the session has been terminated , but I then get an teat email from Actinic to say the server connection properties are correct. So it is a bit of a mystery and very annoying one

Do you have any firewall software running?

can you get access to the servers ftp logs for your site - this may also tell you something useful

I don't have to use passive mode so the firewall should not be a problem.
I have uploaded previously using same settings but now is not working! - very odd.

It's looking like you are correctly logged into the server but for some reason its kicking you off again, as you say.
I think you probably need to to talk to who ever is your server admin and see if they have made any changes at their end recently which could cause this to occur.

Sorry for the delay had to get home. The server end say no changes have been made. If it is kicking me off it doesn't do it when I connect by other means. Anyway Shellnet don't think its being caused by them and Actinic the same so I am a bit stuck!

I would suggest you register an email support question at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and the team will be able to test the server from their end.
