Making a payment without purchasing any products.

I'm currently using "Invoice with order" as a payment method. Customers receive the goods and make a payment on their account at the end of the month either by cheque or phoning their card details through.

Is there a way that they can login to their account and select an option to make a payment on their account online? I know Actinic won't allow the customer to view past orders / account outstanding so they would have to get the amount outstanding from the invoice they receive in the post.

I've looked at the method to accept donations in the AUG, this is similar to what I want but not quite there.

As they are already using customer accounts could you set up a "product" with their logged in price set to their account total and they just add 1 unit to the cart to get the full amount?

Thats pretty much how we handle it.
We have a SPECIAL ORDERS product, in a hidden section (good idea, as you don't want people adding this product by accident).
Then you email the customer with a link to the hidden section, and instructions how to proceed.
