    General Script error

I have just received a call form a customer trying to select one size and when added to the cart a different size appears.

I've just had a brief scroll thru and upon selecting various items I get the following error message.

    A General Script Error Occurred

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Error: Illegal component/attribute combination
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

The site is www.parklifeclothes.co.uk if anybody has any ideas.

Have seen this happen when copy and paste from a master or copying across sections. I resolved by deleting them all (components that were not working) , creating afresh and then copy and pasting accordingly to other products as needed

I am slightly worried this could be related to a Perl SCripting problem that occured last week that you (Jont) had helped me with. Since then we have made no changes to most of the items and they had been working fine up until then.

Don't think I got involved with any of the scripts - just the installation of the new software to get you back to being live.

It may be that some changes were made to some of the scripts and the new install has defaulted back to the originals. I would be inclined to delete the offending components / attributes etc from a section causing problems - upload to check the basic product only item is working - then add a new component back in to 1 product - test - then copy over to others if needed

Just re-read the original posts on the "help" thread and as you patched to the latest version (to sync with the web) this does install original .pl scripts as default.

Did you make any changes to the .pl script that could affect components?

I really wouldn't know about the .pl script, I copied what you suggested and everthing looked/worked fine, the website has been busy, although on other products

Just realised after putting an item into the basket, the bounce page takes you to a different page and not the one you were browsing.

This looks like an issue with the scripts. Please see http://knowledge.actinic.com/acatalo...es.html#aKB739

                Kind regards,

                  a bit more help needed

If I were to upgrade my current site to v8 would this possibly take care of the script problems I am getting.
My other option is to go live with a v8 site I have built using the 30 day trial, but this also seems to get a warning message when completing a snapshot.

Warning: The HTML templates specify source files (with "SRC=" commands) that reside in directories other than the acatalog directory on the web site. Actinic can not handle these files and they are being omitted from the list of files to upload.

No source files in the templates should have a path. Store them in the site specific directory locally, and they will be uploaded to the Actinic web directory.

Slightly confused which is the best way to go, any ideas greatly appreciated.

This is a benign error, that you can ignore. If you get this error when uploading, you can actually choose not to show it again.

The error means that there are elements of your design that will only work online, but won't work in preview. If your design is working as you need it to online, then you don't need to worry about this error.
