component tax

hi,

I have some components that are linked back to existing products which works fine for stock monitioring etc.. Can you put your own custom tax in for these??? I cannot see an option.. In all my main products I have entered a custom tax to ort out the rounding issue??? But my components prices are different than the main price hence why I need a different custom tax....

If you define a product that is linked to a component there is a checkbox to tick to say that the tax settings should be taken from the linked product rather than the parent. This should sort out the details for the component, but will not help if you are trying to round the new cost of the product including the component cost.

thanks jan... We just used the same price!!! which is not what we wanted...

does anyone know if you can have different component tax in version 8??

This area has not changed in v8. You will still have to do what Jan suggested.
