I want to set up a discount for customers who login in to the site.
everything works except that every one gets the discount even if the user has not logged in.
I have ticked the restrictions box to allow only the customer group these discounts
Can Anyone help?

Try compacting your databases and then follow up with a complete refresh of the site. Let us know if that sorted the problem.
