Trouble installing Actinic to a Verio VPS account

    Hello,

I'm currently trying to install Actinic to a Verio Virtual Private Server Account, and experiencing a lot of hassle. Everything worked fine on our old Shared Hosting server, but the new VPS server that I'm trying to migrate to is throwing up problems. Verio's support is less than helpful. I would be interested to know if anyone is running Catalog on a Verio hosted VPS & if they had any problems getting it up and running.

    When I attempt setup through:

Web/Configure Web Site Details.../ Confirm each setting

It gets as far as the Dialogue box Perl Installation

Path to perl: which is /usr/local/bin/perl
    Perl Script: wich is .pl

When I attempt to continue I get this error message:

"The server is not configured to handle cookie headers. The script did not receive the cookie sent by the wizard."

Is there a way to cure this ?

This is a problem with the version of the software you have.

Back on 2000, servers were generally happy to accept 'cookie headers' but then they started rejecting them. Therefore in v5 we removed this part of the test.

If you just type your details into Advanced | Network Setup, althought the Test will fail with this message, the site should still upload correctly (as long as your settings are correct!).

Thanks for the reply. I have managed to upload most of the catalog files, but now, right at the end of the uploading process I get the following error message:

'A server error occurred while attempting to merge server files. 404-Not Found.'

Leaving me the only option to cancel out of the process. Any further help would be appreciated.

        Hi Rod

If you email me your ftp access details, I will try to configure the correct settings for you.
