    PC(network) Profiles Query

    Hi all....
Just taken over from another guy and have a new network profile.
The previous guy has all of the Actinic websites in his profile, including pictures in his "My Documents".
Now i'm logging onto my own profile over the network and importing the snapshots from the previous guys profile.

Actinic is showing errors regarding images which are being pulled from his profile "My Documents"

Is there a procedure to transfer all websites to my profile?

    Hope that sounds clear....

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

    The operation was completed successfully.
Files referenced within Actinic (for instance product and section images) which are not located in the current site directory "Site1" have been included in the backup. These files will be restored into the site directory when imported into Actinic. This means that the locations of the files will need to be manually amended after importing.

Some files in this import were stored externally to the "Site" folder on the original computer. For safety, Actinic is unable to create folders outside the site folder so these have been stored temporarily in the site folder. You will have to either manually move the files to the exact directory they were stored in originally, or correct any references to them.

The directories that were stored are:
    C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\NOT_CATALOG\Documents and Settings\oliver.tarpey\My Documents\My Pictures\Testmate\ (6 files)
    C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\NOT_CATALOG\Documents and Settings\oliver.tarpey\My Documents\My Pictures\Mastec\ (14 files)

      Andy,

If you look in the Site1 folder you will find a new folder called 'NOT_CATALOG', you will find a copy of his My Documents folder with the images in there.

      Kind regards,

        Thanks Bruce.

The problem with this is we need to remove Olivers profile from the network.

Thanks Jo, but would involve a lot of work as all images within the site are in the other guy's profile.

Theree must be a better way.

It shouldn't be a lot of work, copy the image to the acatalog folder, then export a snapshot (File / Snapshot / Export), use notepad to find and replace the old path with the new and import the snapshot.

                Andy,

You are learning the hard way that when Actinic say all images should be inside the Site folder, there is a reason for it.

The original images are in the other guy's profile, but inside your site folder, you should find your images at the end of the paths you report in post #2.

Once you have moved them all to the site folder, you should be able to delete that entire subfolder tree NOT_CATALOG with everything below it, and foget about profiles.

There is only one better way - keep all the images where they belong - in the site folder.
