email not sending from catalog

Hi, v6 catalog has stopped sending emails.
we get the following message

Failed to communicate with the SMTP server.

Possible Cause:
Network transmission problems.

Recommendation:
Retry

Resolution:
If retry fails, check your SMTP settings
or contact your ISP.


The error was:
58320marfgtti@hotmail.comUnable to connect to the mail socket (Connection refused

Command: send Filename:



Our smtp server is set as 'localhost' and has worked fine for the last two years.
We are hosted with 4sure and use Pipex as a broadband provider.
We have also had problems connecting to our email server over the las month or two with 4sure.

Any help please.

this will be a hosting issue, I suugest you contact 4sure as they wil lbe able to resolve it for you

hi, thanks, I have sent them an email, I did email them about this a few weeks ago but nothing has improved. Another email is on its way.
