re-enter your password to complete order

When a logged in customer chooses to pay by invoice it says just before the receipt page -

"Please re-enter your password in order to check your identification and complete your order"

How do I stop this happening and why does it appear sometimes and not others? Is it only for 'pay by invoice' orders?

I think that appears if you are logged in and choose to pay on account - a sort of double check to make sure that you are actually the customer rather than someone messing around on a PC that has been left logged in. I don't think that you can switch it off.

Just adding my two cents in here...I was curious about the same thing. I was annoyed with the login page showing up in checkout because the customer has already logged into the store (customers can't get into the store unless they've logged in). As I started to make modifications to the checkout process, the login portion disappeared. So now when I check out, there is no login. So, it may be that I found a flukey way of doing it - and maybe it's caused the store to be less secure. I may try uncommenting some of my changes and see if it comes back. I'll let you know...
