    Order Status

    Actinic 7.02 Catalog

How does Actinic manage the status of orders?

All of my orders still sit at 'Pending' even though I know they are done. I colour code the orders to make it easy for me too see which are done/pending etc. Is there not a button / menu option somewhere that you select once completed to change it status? I can't find it!

Is this only done when you have the site linked into a payment system?

There are two ways to move the orders into completed

    1) Tick the bypass order processing option in business settings and export orders to move them into completed

    2) Ship all of the order lines, make sure the payment status is full payment received (if your products are free or you use an online PSP this will automatically be the case, if not you will have to enter a payment record to get to this state) and print your invoice and then the order will move to the completed tab.

how do you move to completed an order which is refunded in full, or do you have to delete it.

I'm ok with the instructions for #2. Thanks!

Are you seriously telling me I have to reprint all my shipped orders back to when the site went live in Dec 05 just to get them to move to completed?

Surely the order status isn't linked to the print command?

You have to cancel the item (unship it if you have marked it as shipped), then you have to enter a refund into the payment history to cancel out the online PSP payment history entry.

Do you seriously think I made all of that up?

If they are already printed you don't have to print them again.

I have some batch order processing tools on my site that you can use to move the lot to completed with a couple of clicks - use the demo version to do it. I would say to this would be the best one to try :

I did what you said and you are correct. The order has now moved.

There was one 'but' though and that was that you need to go in and change each individual item line on the order to being shipped. That's not something we normally do as we do not use any stock tracking and very rarely ship part orders.

I don't suppose there is a way of ignoring all that and just setting the status via the "Full Payment Recieved" option. I'm probably asking too much I know but at least now I know I can do it. Mayb e I'll use your utility to move the old orders and make sure for future orders each item ordered is marked shipped and the payment status is set correct.

                Once again thanks!
