    Home page width

    Hi there,

Have a slight problem in the width of my home page. I have read other threads on here about amending the ACTSWIDTH to 100% and also checking the table width in the Default Overall Layout template. Have done both of these and still the only page that you have to scroll across to view in a browser is my home page. I want to complete the home page layout but want to sort this problem out first.

    The site address is www.totallytactical.com

Any help or advice would be great.
    Many thanks
    Ian

It may be to do with the scrolling text you have at the top of the page. Try removing it and see what happens.

Although it is more likely your banner image at 1300px wide - try reducing it to 800.

I am having to scroll on every page - they are all far too wide.

The top banner can easily be modified to allow it to expand and shrink to fit the screen size by slicing it in say PhotoShop and setting a solid colour as a background image in a non fixed width cell

The main table area (where all the products are) behaves differently for the index.html page and the section pages. On the index page, it has the 'correct' width, and will vary in width as the browser width is changed. The product sections are much, much wider and fixed in width.

The 1300 px banner is definitely causing the scroll bar problem on the index page. The section pages have the same problem because of both the banner and the wide table area.

I am seeing a scroll on all pages as Malcolm ... home, section and product.

The section pages and product pages will usually use the same template (Act_Primary.html) with the index using Act_BrochurePrimary.html
