    Snapshot Checking

    Without uploading a snapshot and viewing every product on every page, is there a way of checking that the 'whole' snapshot has transferred correctly 100% ?

    Getting a bit nervous getting rid of my old computer

    You could try a file comparison utility to check the contents of your site1 folder created as a snapshot versus a temporary full folder copy of the full site to check if there are any files missing, file sizes are the same etc.

        Snapshots tend to be quite reliable - assuming you did not receive any errors during creation / installation you should be OK - I have done this many times between machines and different sites and all have worked fine.

        If the old machine is still working I would upload on the new - check around and maybe do a test purchase to see if all is OK - if you get errors simply upload again from the old machine to get you back to a known point

          Back again

          Ok, this is probably a silly question but...........

          I store all my product images for my sites within a separate folder;

          C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Images\mypicture.jpg

          Now i've successfully imported snapshots of my sites onto my new pc, should I now copy the 'images' folder from the old pc?

          Told you

            Morning Peter,

            have you checked the folder structure after importing the snapshot? You will probably find everything is there in its correct folder already

              I was thinking that I would have to import the 'images' folder independantly as it appears as separate from the individual site folders?

                When I imported the PC snapshot it dropped all the images into the correct subfolders
