    * Help * Error message saying basket is empty after adding product to basket

    Hi - I have a problem with an existing site that has not had anything changed except products in the last few months.

    The site is www.wildlifeonline.com

    I can add a product to the basket/cart but when I try to checkout I get a message saying that the product has been added to my basket followed by an error message saying " Your basket is empty. Return to the shop and add an item to your basket before continuing."

    I have tried refreshing the site and compacting the database.

    I am aware that my ISP has been moving sites to different servers in a different location.

    Anybody any ideas on this one?

    Your site is creating the correct cookies when a visitor arrives, but it is not adding to the cart content cookie when an item is added to the basket.
    Are you able to check the server time? There is a response in the Knowledgebase on a similar sounding problem where server time setting is shown as the cause.

      I just looked at the http header and the server time looks correct (GMT). It's a strange one this as all the urls look right, it's just that the cookie isn't being created.

        Mike,

        I found the cookie was created - but not updated once you begin adding to cart - which is even stranger than not creating cookies at all.

          Hi - thanks for the replies guys. I have contacted the ISP (VI.NET who are now called activ24) regarding this and they have informed me that they are aware of the problem as it has been reported by other actinic users.

          They have migrated the website to a new server and it appears that there is a problem with the software configuration of the new servers that is causing this problem with Actinic sites.
